Xcel Wetsuits Signs Pro Surfer Zeke Lau to the Team

Xcel Wetsuits is pleased to announce the signing of Hawaiian professional surfer Zeke Lau to the brand. Zeke will support Xcel’s growing men’s business and help guide the direction of the men’s performance wetsuit line.

“I am very excited to be joining the Xcel Ohana and representing Hawaii, where we are both from,” Lau said. “Xcel is one of the true core surf brands, and I am stoked at how committed the team is to making the best performance wetsuits on the market”.

Said Ian Stewart, Xcel Wetsuits head of marketing, “Zeke is as core as they come. He represents everything we stand for in terms of high performance, full throttle surfing. Zeke is a modern day charger, and we are thrilled to have him on the team, showcasing some of the best surfing out there today”.

About Zeke Lau

Hawaiian native Ezekiel “Zeke” Lau started his journey as a surfer on the island of Oahu. Zeke is born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and inevitably became a specialist in any condition the “seven-mile miracle” (aka the North Shore) produces. Power, speed, flow and more power, Zeke is an absolute standout in any condition.

About Xcel Wetsuits

Ed D’Ascoli founded Xcel in 1982, working from the bedroom of his Sunset Beach house. D’Ascoli found no shortage of inspiration from the world-class performances on display at his doorstep; and the opportunity to create and to connect high-performance products with the athletes who demanded them was irresistible. Xcel’s passionate focus on product development would become the defining characteristic of the brand. Xcel has been voted Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) “Wetsuit of the Year” by its industry peers four times (2007, 2008, 2010, 2020). Wedge Brands bought Xcel from Boardriders in 2020.
