Xcel Wetsuits is pleased to announce the signing of Australian surfer Shaun Manners to the brand. Shaun will support Xcel’s growing men’s business and help guide the direction of the men’s wetsuit line. “I am stoked to be on the team. Xcel is one of the true core surf brands” said Shaun Manners “They are committed to making the best wetsuits for all conditions, which works for me and my surfing.” Said Ian Stewart, Xcel Wetsuits head of marketing “Shaun is one of the most exciting surfers out there right now, so we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the Xcel family and support his growth as a radical, high performance surfer.”
About Shaun Manners
Modest, calm, and collected is the easiest way to describe Shaun “Chun” Manners. Shaun has been in the mix of professional surfing most of his life, contest after contest, only to transition into one of the most up-and-coming free surfers on the planet. Shaun blasted an unforgettable one at North Point which landed him two cover shots. He signed a deal with Former and blew minds on the Stab High Indonesia event. For the past year, Shaun has worked at his father, Matt Manner’s shaping factory, and recently moved to the southern corners of Australia to push the limits of his surfing.
About Xcel Wetsuits
Ed D’Ascoli founded Xcel in 1982, working from the bedroom of his Sunset Beach house. D’Ascoli found no shortage of inspiration from the world-class performances on display at his doorstep; and the opportunity to create and to connect high-performance products with the athletes who demanded them was irresistible. Xcel’s passionate focus on product development would become the defining characteristic of the brand. Xcel has been voted Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) “Wetsuit of the Year” by its industry peers four times (2007, 2008, 2010, 2020).
